This Sunday is Global Day for Darfur.

If you are familiar with what happened in Rwanda you will understand why we need to take action now to stop the genocide that is occuring in Darfur. Since 2003, Darfur in Western Sudan has been embroiled in a deadly conflict. Several hundred thousand people have been killed or seriously injured. More than two million people have been displaced and live in displaced-persons camps in Sudan or in refugee camps in Chad; more than 3.5 million people are reliant on international aid for survival.

The Toronto rally will feature Ret Lt. General/Senator Romeo Dallaire as a key note speaker in addition to Justin Trudeau.

In Vancouver Senator Mobina Jaffer will address the rally. Senator Jaffer was appointed to the Canadian Senate in 2001 as the first Muslim women, first African, she continues to bring issues of human rights and other important issues to her colleagues in the Parliament of Canada

If you can not attend a rally you can still show your support by signing the online petition found at the bottom of the page.
