What are these symbols I see in the forecast for the next week?

Is it true? Could we finally be getting some sun again?

I'd better break out the sunglasses as the last time we had a sunny day I was nearly blinded. My eyes weren't used to anything other than dark, grey days. Welcome back Mr Sun! I've missed you.

February Blues? Not for this girl! They won't be able to catch me with my jetting around the West Coast next month.

It starts off with a quick visit to Calgary/Banff for a few days with Trent. I come back from there and then head to Tofino for the weekend with JM & GV and the little man. The following weekend Ciara, Jodi, Mike and the gang are in from TO and we've rented a chalet in Whistler for 3 days. I think I'll be taking March off to recover.

Now if only I could start banking some sleep.

This morning Niki and I went to the Tomahawk in North Van for breakfast. It's an institution here in Vancouver and now I know why, they serve a mean breakfast. Their Yukon style bacon was great. It's cut peameal style and double smoked, and when cooked to crispy it is a thing of beauty. The french toast I had to accompany the bacon was pretty great too. Definitely worth crossing two bridges for.

After breakfast we decided to explore Lonsdale Quay as we heard it has s a good market. We weren't disappointed finding two great little shops there. The first was the Pepper Pot which sells all kinds of fresh herbs and spices. We each left with a cookbook and a bag full of goodies. The owner even gave us a bag of fresh curry leaves to share. Next we ended up in Favourite, which describes itself as a store that sells unique gifts and accessories. Favourite had the most beautiful purses and belts and all kinds of unique locally made accessories. I left with a funky belt made from antique Kimono and Niki took home a great green tweed purse.

Last night I decided that I would go into work late today as I knew it would be a long one as I had marathon meetings after work (I just got home). Wow...is it ever great going in late, which was 8:30 AM for me. I lazed in bed for a while, got up did my back exercises, showered and then had a leisurely breakfast while watching the news. So this how the other half lives. I like it. Might see if I can adopt the late start thing on a regular basis as it looks like Tuesday's are going to be long days for the next few months.

I'd also like to say thank you to the nice man who offered to help me out this afternoon after I was verbally assaulted by a crazy cab driver and in tears while trying to carry two very large and heavy boxes. Your kindness definitely made up for crazy cab driver and I've decided that I am going to focus on that part, not the ugly part.

Again..its very snowy here. What's up with that?

I've just picked up my new snowshoes. I'm the proud new owner of a pair of Atlas Elektra 1027's. I love their teal and yellow straps!

Can't wait to hit Grouse on Saturday morning and test them out.

Thank you 2, 3 and 4 for the great bday present!

Thought a fun photo of the Polar Bear Dip might be a nice way to start the year off.

Trent has a sport housing on his camera and the video of us actually dipping is hysterical. You actually don't need the video to enjoy it just the audio.
