This morning Niki and I went to the Tomahawk in North Van for breakfast. It's an institution here in Vancouver and now I know why, they serve a mean breakfast. Their Yukon style bacon was great. It's cut peameal style and double smoked, and when cooked to crispy it is a thing of beauty. The french toast I had to accompany the bacon was pretty great too. Definitely worth crossing two bridges for.

After breakfast we decided to explore Lonsdale Quay as we heard it has s a good market. We weren't disappointed finding two great little shops there. The first was the Pepper Pot which sells all kinds of fresh herbs and spices. We each left with a cookbook and a bag full of goodies. The owner even gave us a bag of fresh curry leaves to share. Next we ended up in Favourite, which describes itself as a store that sells unique gifts and accessories. Favourite had the most beautiful purses and belts and all kinds of unique locally made accessories. I left with a funky belt made from antique Kimono and Niki took home a great green tweed purse.
